Jester's Court
279 Queen St
Built: 1859
Haunted: unknown
History
From over a century, the Murray House was a private home. During the latter half of the 20th century, the old Victorian home underwent extensive rennovations
and opened to the public as the Jester's Court.
Hauntings
Back when it was a private home, the owners reported the apparition of an elerly woman that would check in on the children.
Both staff and guests of the restaurant have reported much more unusual events. The bottom bolt has been found locked on front door, to which there is no key.
Footsteps can be heard coming down the central staircase. Salt & pepper shakers move from table to table; lights are turned on and off; dirty dishes are moved from table to table; and a
chair was placed on the stairway landing one night after closing.
Staff have reported a feeling of being grabbed from behind and held in an extremely cold bearhug, and of being pushed from behind.
The apparition of a little girl has been seen sitting on the stairs, playing with a doll,
while an elderly woman, dressed in blue, often walks into the bathroom, where she dissappears.
At table 13, a couple can be seen having dinner and, after closing hours, a lit candle can often be seen.
