Legion Hall (Eden Court)
515 Royal York Road
Built: 1886
Haunted: since 1960s
History
The hall was constructed in 1886 as the residence of Edward Stock.
During the 1930s, it housed a high-class gambling hall owned by gangster Abe Orpen.
The Royal Canadian Legion opened a branch there in the 1950s, but closed it in early 2004.
Since then, the building has been sold to new owners and is in the process of being restored.
Hauntings
The feeling of a young solider's presence, accompanied by a chill in the air, has been reported by legion members.
Lights have been known to go on and off by themselves, while the sounds of whispering and footsteps have been reported.
A ghostly green apparition has also been spotted, and when talcum power was spread over the storage room floor, footsteps appeared that stopped in the middle of the room.
